Deleting your data
Last updated: 15 September 2026
Three different things can be deleted, and they are separate. Pick the one you mean.
1. Disconnect a linked account
If you connected Facebook, Instagram, Google, LinkedIn or any other service to a Docfolk workspace, open Settings, Integrations inside the workspace, find that service and press Disconnect.
The access token we held is deleted immediately and we stop talking to that service. Anything already imported (a post you published, a calendar event that synced) stays in your workspace until you delete it, because it is your content rather than theirs.
You can also revoke our access from the provider's own side, in Facebook under Settings, Apps and Websites, or in your Google account under Third-party apps. Doing it there stops the connection just as effectively; the stored token in your workspace becomes inert and you can clear it with Disconnect whenever you like.
2. Delete the whole workspace
Open Settings, Account and choose Delete workspace. You confirm with your password, and then every record and every uploaded file is removed at once: contacts, projects, transcripts, images, video, notes, financial figures, and every token for every service you had connected.
It cannot be undone, so export first if you want a copy. The export is one button on the same page and gives you the whole workspace as a single file.
If a subscription simply lapses without you deleting anything, the workspace is kept for 30 days, with a warning a week before the end, and is then deleted the same way. Database backups roll off within seven days after that. Invoices are kept for the seven years Belgian accounting law requires; nothing from inside the workspace is.
3. Ask us to erase what we hold about you
If you have no account and want to know or remove what we hold, or you would rather we did the deletion than do it yourself, write to lars@shiftvideoproductions.com. We answer within 30 days and it costs nothing.
One case we cannot answer ourselves: if your details sit inside somebody else's Docfolk workspace, because a filmmaker or a video business keeps you as a contact, then that business decides what happens to it and we only store it for them. Write to us anyway and we will tell you who to ask and pass your message on. The data processing agreement explains that split.
